The ADS has two methods by which data can be deposited into our repository for long-term preservation and dissemination; via ADS-easy and directly with the ADS Collections Team. The character of your dataset will determine the appropriate deposit method to use.

Small datasets

Small to medium datasets of up to 1000 files of common formats can be deposited with ADS via ADS-easy. ADS-easy semi-automates the ingest of data into our repository systems allowing us to provide a cheaper service.

Large datasets

For datasets over 1000 files, datasets that including data formats not accepted by ADS-easy or datatsets that require a special interface, then your data should be deposited directly with the ADS Collections Team. This can be done by email, a secure file transfer or the posting of physical storage medium (i.e. hard drive) to the ADS.  Please contact the ADS directly to discuss the deposition of larger datasets.

Library datasets

For Library datasets, such as journals, monograph series and collections of reports, which will be indexed and disseminated by the ADS Library, should be deposited directly with the ADS Collections Team. Please contact the ADS directly to discuss the deposition of ADS library datasets.
