Several sections of the gravel exposed on a building site in Glebelands Road. Six feet of well-bedded sandy gravel with clay seams seen in one trench but a few feet away in another trench and elsewhere the bedding was much-distorted.
Sarsen and Lower Greensand erratics found.

Second season with Professors Piggott and Atkinson, assisting with the excavation of the tomb. Primary tomb almost intact with about twelve disarticulated and one crouched skeleton laid on a sarsen pavement.
Mainly occupied in examining mound and old land surface of the primary tomb.
