Visit with L W Carpenter to the working pits near West Drayton. Two extremely rough, rolled small hand-axes found in the scree of the pit nearer Dawley (one retained - 2205 - other given to L.W.C.) and about four flakes. L.W.C. found a recently broken unpatinated blade in the face of the brick-earth, but it could have been intrusive.
About a dozen flakes, mainly ochrous and rolled but one sharp (retained 2206) found in the heaps of rejects of 'Stockley Pit.' The man on the 'belt' said he occasionally picks implements off. Recently he sold a 'good one' for £5! L.W.C. found the point of a hand-axe., (sketch plan of site location)
