Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Lavenham Brickyard, Suffolk, 3/5/2001
Made an auger survey with the help of Mr John Sullivan. Undisturbed deposits certainly remain, but estimate that it would be necessary to make a trench c. 2m deep. This would mean the use of a machine. Mr Sullivan is prepared to pay for one, and Miss Amanda Mansell agrees that we may do so. I plan to cut this section and perhaps a smaller one by the existing old face in two weeks time.
(NB. Plan abandoned as Miss Mansell later changed her mind, but I may do so next year in the early Spring).

Lingford, Suffolk, 11/6/2001
Monday 11th June and Tuesday 12th.

A tour of several sites to examine their present condition.

Ling Heath - I may have walked here from Brandon c. 1950 but cannot recall it. Area now arable and could only see a slight circular, chalky depression, and a heaped ridge of chalk, that may have some connection with the old flint mines for extracting flint for the gun-flint industry.

Santon Warren, Lynford, Norfolk, 12/6/2001
Totally overgrown with shrubs and grass. Even the footpath by the railway fence is banned to horsed, so that is also mainly covered. Just traces of sand with odd flakes to be seen.
