Met by Maurice Ratliff at North Walsham station and driven to site. Simon Parfitt and company arrive at the Hill House. Helpers: Mat Pope, John Stuart, Alexis Willett.
Deposit well exposed and samples duly collected. Mainly sieved prior to bagging. Learnt later, disappointingly, no micro-mammal bones or teeth were found, but some of the bone fragments had cut-marks upon them.
Harkstead, Suffolk, 24/2/2000
With Roy Shephard-Thorn. Walked beach at low tide. Cross section of a river channel in the low cliff at c. 186340, some 60m wide resting on a bed of septaria and upper part cryoturbated. A possible rolled flake in the fravel - not retained.
