Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. Hoxne, Suffolk, 20/3/2000
Monday 20th and Wednesday 22nd March 2000.

Visited and assisted in location of witness section to be made in the field W of Oakley Farm Pit, in advance of the forthcoming visit by the QRA on April 13th. JCB cut down to base of the contorted deposits, remainder dug by hand. Edges of the west side of my West cutting successfully exposed and Simon Parfitt trowolled bed C and examined the surface with the Lower Industry, in a further metre square which would have been 07 93 on my grid. One large thinning flake was found and some small bone fragments.
Simon Lewis, Nick Ashton ___ and Mark White formed the team. MacRae visited the site on the Wednesday.
Water, seeping through the parmeable back-face of the 1978 excavation had to be pumped out. Mr Walker of Fairstead Farm kindly supplied a pump.
Mark and myself looking at my old 'site office' now much wrecked. I believe it was a 1st world war mobile office for reconnaissance duties. (photograph)
