Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Page information

Non-UK (Iran)
Artefact no 3667 , Micro-core of pall, pinkish chert from surface of the deposits in a cave above Kermanshah airport - Sat. 19th. Other material, probably Barodostian = upper Pal. collected and left with Dept. of Game and Fisheries.
Artefact no 3759-3765 , examples of coloured flint from the same site

Vértesszöllös, Non-UK (Hungary), 29/9/1970
Visited the site, now an open Museum. It was seen that the skull had been found in a travertine above the loess which, in turn, was above four occupational floors.

United States of America, Non-UK (USA), 15/10/1970
Artefact no 3668-3673 , Flint/chalcedony flakes from the surface in the Calies Mountains near the ancient Lake Manix.
Artefact no 3674 , Chalcedony flake made by myself from the rock outcropping in Mule Canyon, the source of the chalcedony in the fan gravels, where excavations for Dr Louis Leakey by Ruth de Etse Simpson have produced alleged artifacts. The sample seen during the conference conviced me that they are the result of natural agencies.
Thursday 15th October - Friday 30th October.

Visited Rancho La Brea, Los Angeles, now being excavated.
