Churn Plain
The two barrows close together show clearly unploughed mounds in what is now arable land.
Ridgeway in good order with little sign of large ruts from farm vehicles or motor cycles. Walked down to Blewbury and took taxi to Henley.
Aldeby, Norfolk, 8/6/2000
Artefact no 4436 , Finishing flake of very poor quality fliint, rolled and edge-damaged. Found on disturbed base of pit.
Visited the RMCL pit with Jim Rose. Complex section of:
1. Till cutting into - 5cm
2. Pale sand and gravel - 5cm
3. Reddish layer at top of well-bedded sand and gravel to base - 9cm
