Defended building. A former two storey stable block with one embrasure in the E side, four in N side facing the canal and three in the W side. The embrasures have been glazed or blocked.

Former stable block of public house (held horses for towing canal barges) which was converted in 1940 to a strongpoint. In the SE face (facing along the canal) there are two loopholes at the upper level, now glazed, and one at the lower level, now blocked. On the side facing SW across the canal are two loopholes (glazed) at the upper level and two at the lower (blocked). The building is used today as the club house of a Motor Boat Club.
