Comments on the Readings (Tomlin) | F is curtailed by the broken edge, but to its left is possible trace of another letter, as if the die-cutter inserted I here since he could not find room for it after F. But the original width is unknown, and the name might be Rufinus instead of Rufus. |
Notes | Broken stamps from Canterbury and Amiens make up the complete stamp - no other examples known. Dubois et al 2009, p683, fig 5, no. 25 and p. 684; either the genitive of RVFVS or just possibly an abbreviation of a longer name such as Rufinus. |
