Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Comments on the Readings (Tomlin)No sign of medial point after Q. VA ligatured. The horizontals of L and E are lost in the border. No room for the S of Veranius but may be implied by a possible upward extension of the second diagonal of V.

NotesQ. Valerius Veranius worked at Bavai, only briefly at the beginning of his career and none of his stamps from Dies 1 and 2 have been found in Britain; they are unlikely to be found far from Bavai. With Die 1 he used a profile totally different from at any later period. See Hartley 1998, 20-201 for drawings and discussion of dies in use at Bavai.
