Reading (Tomlin) | ]CACCERV[ |
Comments on the Readings (Tomlin) | Trace of C left of A, but not clear that it is first letter. E is reversed to ligature it to R, the 'tail' of which is there but rather slight. Difficult instead to read ]C ACCEPTV[S] for the cognomen Acceptus, since it would require T ligatured to the first diagonal of V, of which there is no sign. |
Retrograde | E |
Ligatured | ER |
Notes | small I between C and E, ER ligatured, with E reversed, with probable V following. Initial letter could be S. Only known example from Springhead, Kent |
