Comments on the Readings (Tomlin) | C is formed by two short strokes meeting at almost right-angles. N is reversed. The curving bottom edge of the die suggests there were only these four letters. Probably Corn(elius). There are some other possibilities such as Corn(utus), but the nomen Cornelius (also used as a cognomen) is very common; the cognomen Cornelianus is derived from it. |
