Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Comments on the Readings (Tomlin)Medial point enclosed by C which conjoins F. Not FE
LigaturedFE
Additional Letters to the NameF
NotesThe vertical of the E extends above and possibly below the letter; 'E' probably represents FE ligatured, but the extended downstroke is more difficult to explain; the central stop is a triangle. Stamp, rim profiles and date fit best with them being from northern France. One of the 3 examples known is from Amiens and the possibility of production somewhere in the vicinity has to be considered (Dubois et al 2009 fig 5, no.17). The 2 other examples are both from Southwark (Sheldon 1974, fig 22, no.18 is in Flavian context);
