Introduction

Shot of the site before excavation work
Shot of the site before excavation work

This collection comprises site data (images, CAD and report) from an archaeological trial trench evaluation on land at Thomas Sawyer Way (Riverwell Enabling Works) Watford, Hertfordshire in July 2020. MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by RPS consulting on behalf of Kier Property to undertake this work.

Ten trenches were excavated, of which one contained a post-medieval ditch and two showed evidence of furrows.

The images within this archive record the site before and during excavation.

The CAD file records the extent of the original site boundary, surveyed alluvium, excavated trenches, excavated features, excavated sections and furrows.

The report details the site background, evaluation methodology and post excavation plans.
