Spigot mortar base. 3ft 3in high, on a concrete plinth and sited to fire over boundary wall.

Spigot mortar pedestal with steel spigot. Set on concrete base behind boundary wall and flush with its top. The pedestal was made with corrugated iron shuttering.

Kirkleatham Hall defended locality - Kirkleatham Hall from 1940 - 1943 served as a battalion HQ for units engaged on coastal defence. At one time during this period it was the HQ of the 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. The Hall was provided with intensive all-round defence as a defended locality.
